Kai Tak Forum to review community input
The Sub-committee on South East Kowloon Development Review of the Harbour-front Enhancement Committee (HEC) will organise a "Kai Tak Forum" on Saturday (March 19) to review the public's visions received since the start of the Kai Tak Planning Review in September, 2004.
The "Kai Tak Forum" aims to engage the public in examining public comments and proposals submitted during the Stage 1 Public Participation. Input from the participants on Saturday will help build consensus on the main development themes which will guide the next stage - the preparation of the Outline Concept Plans for Kai Tak.
The Forum will be held in meeting room 404-407, Phase I of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai from 9am to 1pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
An exhibition of comments and proposals received during the Stage 1 Public Participation will be held at the same venue from 8am to 3pm on Saturday.
The Forum will be chaired by the Chairman of the HEC Sub-committee on South East Kowloon Development Review, Dr Chan Wai-kwan. He is supported by a panel of Sub-committee members and representatives of professional institutes.
Starting at 9am, the study group, which includes the project consultant and an expert team of representatives from relevant Government bureaux and departments, will present an overview of the findings and they will be available throughout the forum to answer questions from the audience.
After the presentation of the overview, the audience will be invited to debate the findings and question the study team. Following a break at 11am, the audience will split in small group discussions which will report back in a plenary session starting at noon.
